Timo – Perenne. È una pianta di modeste esigenze che valorizza ambienti poco fertili, pietrosi ma soleggiati. Si semina in primavera (marzo-giugno) e si mette a dimora in autunno distanziando almeno di 20 cm. Viene impiegata in cucina per aromatizzare pollame, coniglio e per attenuare l’odore forte della selvaggina. Gli impacchi ottenuti per infusione delle foglie hanno proprietà antisettiche.

Thyme – Perennial. A plant of modest requirements that makes the most of somewhat unfertile, stony but sunny environments. Sow in the spring (March-June) and plant out in the autumn at least 20 cm apart. Used in cooking to aromatise chicken, rabbit and to soften the strong smell of game. Compresses obtained by infusing the leaves have antiseptic properties.
