Finocchio selvatico – Pianta erbacea biennale o perenne. Il fusto, striato longitudinalmente e ramoso, raggiunge l’altezza di cm. 150. Il fiore ad ombrello è di colore giallo e le foglie sono verde scuro. Si semina in semenzaio ad Aprile trapiantando a Giugno per raccolta in autunno o in primavera, oppure si semina in estate con trapianto in autunno per raccolta nell’estate successiva. Le foglie sono uno dei condimenti più
apprezzati nella cucina mediterranea. Molto utilizzati i semi come aromatizzanti nella preparazione di insaccati, dolci e liquori.

Fennel wild – Biennial or perennial herbaceous plant. The stem, which is longitudinally streaked and branched, reaches heights of 150 cm. The umbrella-shaped flower is yellow and the leaves dark green. Sow in seedbed in April and transplant in June for harvest in autumn or spring, or sow in the summer and transplant in the autumn for harvesting the following summer. The leaves make one of the most popular dressings in the Mediterranean tradition. The seeds are frequently used to aromatise cold meats, sweets and liqueurs.
