CARDO BIANCO GIGANTE INERME A FOGLIA INTERA

Cardo bianco gigante inerme a foglia intera – Ortaggio da consumarsi a fine autunno e durante l’inverno caratterizzato dal delicato sapore amarognolo, basso valore energetico e di buon contenuto in sali minerali. Si semina in pieno campo da aprile a luglio a file distanti cm 90 e si diradano le piante a cm 50/60. Per rendere commestibile il cardo occorre riunire e legare a fascio le foglie e coprire il fusto con terra o paglia, lasciando scoperta la sola cima; dopo 3 settimane lo si può raccogliere completamente imbianchito.

Cardoon bianco gigante inerme a foglia intera – Vegetable to be eaten in late autumn and winter, characterised by a delicate bitter flavour, low energy value and good mineral salt content. Sow in the open field from April to July, in rows 90 cm apart and thin plants out to 50 – 60 cm. To make the cardoon edible, tie back the leaves into a bundle and cover the stem with earth or straw, leaving only the top uncovered; after 3 weeks it is fully blanched and ready to harvest.
